Laura’s sacrifice ensured Ruben made it out alive, but the injuries he sustained were such severity that his father, Ernesto Victoriano, deemed him worthless and unfit to serve his family (or what remained of it). He received very little medical treatment, as observed by his heavily scarred appearance and lack of skin grafts, and no support through his “recovery”, and was locked away in a small basement beneath the estate by his father, Ernesto, and abandoned. Ruben was able to free himself eight years later, by some miracle, after wasting away in the basement, murdering both of his parents for their abuse and neglect. With no obstacles in his way, Ruben claimed the family fortune which he then used to acquire resources and outside assistance for his research into restoring his childhood past, and ultimately, his deceased sister.Ruben Victoriano, or “Ruvik”, depending on the timeline, is an inventor and self-proclaimed scientist despite lacking credentials to legitimize his findings. His invention of the STEM engine is his first and only completed project. The unethical treatment of human test subjects at Beacon Mental Hospital began long before his induction, when at age ten, Ruben was mentored by medical director, Dr. Marcelo Jimenez, who intended to have Ruben join him in his inhumane experiments and affiliation with the private research organization “Mobius” at a mature age. Although Ruben was incalculably brilliant with a gifted mind for neuroscience and engineering, his reclusive, distrusting nature and unwillingness to join society after his severe disfigurement prevented him from being formally recognized by the scientific community.Mobius, and by extension, his mentor, Dr. Jimenez, reaped the benefits of Ruben’s mental illness and furious misanthropy by giving him test subjects to operate on for the development of the STEM device, but this only led to more suffering of the patients at Beacon Mental Hospital. Two years before the events of The Evil Within, Ruben is betrayed by his mentor by orders of Mobius after taking a stand against his research being published by preventing anyone access to STEM without his brainwaves. He was taken forcibly into an operating theater, dissected down to his organs, and used as a permanent biological mechanism of the STEM engine for Mobius’ free use of the device. This would not work out in their favor, however, when Ruben’s consciousness manifested in STEM and anyone linked to the device and Ruben’s brainwaves went insane.*Interactions will be set pre-TEW, before Ruben is dissected, or within the chronology of his dissection leading up to or during TEW events. I will indicate when interactions are based during Ruben's permanent STEM occupancy.

My portrayal of Ruben is canon divergent and unless plotted or stated, my portrayal of Ruben will be centered in TEW verse and ignore the events of the game, meaning Ruben is not confined to STEM (unless otherwise stated). In this AU, a group of plutocrats and powerful dignitaries have formed a cabal to funnel money into researching immortality. The result is Sweet Anne’s Bonnet, a plant that, like the Progenitor virus, can transmit viral organisms to those that come into contact with it. The name was chosen by the older generation of the cabal. Among the families involved, is the Victoriano family, along with the Ashfords, the Salazars, and the Wesker ‘lineage’. Ruben’s father Ernesto decides to get greedy and makes a deal with the Salazar family that would give them complete ownership of the virus. The Salazars accept the proposal, and assassination attempts are carried out that ultimately fail. A rift is created, and Ernesto is murdered during a meeting with the elite cabal. Ruben and Laura, as Ernesto’s children, are made into examples by the Ashfords that leave them permanently scarred and test subjects of the new strain.#2 (RE8)Mobius have expanded their research installations across the globe, including building complexes in Asia and Europe. Following the expansion, Ruben is (forcefully) transferred to a remote facility in Romania, where he must continue his research. One of the goals of the organization, and more specifically, the Administrator, was to prevent any delays and accelerate workforce efficiency and progress. Now fully isolated in a smaller research facility, Ruben must pay for the mistakes of his contractors and face the judgment of a woman who doesn’t take kindly to “foreigners” setting up shop so close to her Hivemind of Lycans and Lords.(TBA… Gotta make more outlines and decide what isn’t too crackpot-whacky to include)
Shipping is always welcome, but chemistry is necessary as Ruben is a pathological recluse with little social interaction that isn’t brief and work-related, and assumes that most will find him repulsive to the gaze. I’d prefer we discuss the relationship first to determine the direction of the plotline, but it’s not a requirement. I will only develop ships with 20+ writers, in which case, your muse must also be 25 years of age or older to be considered for shipping as Ruben is nearly 40. The gender of your muse isn’t important, though they do have a preference for men.I’m open to writing sexual topics, but only if I know you, the writer, well enough, and our muses have developed a strong relationship dynamic to warrant engaging in sexual activities. It should also be noted that Ruben has no romantic experience to speak of including sexual experience, and that his knowledge is purely from a scientific perspective, and that is in part due to being both self-hating and ashamed of his deformation, and hindered by the severity of his scarring, both psychologically and physically. To put it simply: a partner who is patient and considerate of Ruben’s emotional issues is absolutely necessary, as opposed to someone who expects a fully experienced partner. My portrayal of Ruben has reproductive impairments from their burn scarring that limits their sensitivity and other pleasure responses.
